Day 67 of Photo Inspirations -- The Night to Honor Israel
Last night I had the privilege of attending The Night to Honor Israel at Victory Christian Center, here in Tulsa. It was an extraordinary event where Jews and Christians came together to celebrate our heritage, to express our covenant of loyalty to each other, and to give comfort and aide to Israel. I will never forget that feeling and realizing how pleased God must be to see his children worshipping together.
It was particularly special for me to have Staci, Payton and Alexia here -- it was a sweet reunion for them to be back with their Tulsa home church, where the kids went to Victory Christan School. were able to be a part of the children's choir for the event, and Staci and Miriam Springer sang a beautiful rendition of "There can be miracles when you believe" -- the absolute words of faith that our dreams, hopes and desires for Israel and her safety can be reality.....when we believe.
I don't ever post about political affiliations -- but being loyal to Israel isn't about politics. It's about God's command in "Genesis 12:3 "And I will bless them that bless you and curse him that curses you, and in you shall all nations of the earth be blessed." Point: God has promised to bless the man or nation that blesses the Chosen People. History has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the nations that have blessed the Jewish people have had the blessing of God; the nations that have cursed the Jewish people have experienced the curse of God.
Just five days ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a brilliant and heart-touching appeal to Congress to stand by Israel. I think that I have an even greater respect and heart for Israel after hearing that speech.
Then last night's moving speech by the Keynote Speaker, Oklahoma's Senator Jim Imhofe, created the urgency for us to continue to pray and support Israel. We all are standing boldly for God's chosen people, and their right to abide in the land given to them by God Almighty. The monies raised at the event (over $26,000) to build a bomb shelter in Israel was a sure sign of solidarity demonstrated in a very tangible way.
I do pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure." Psalm 122:6, and I pray for an army of God's people to rise up in solidarity as we pray for her peace and safety.
