Do you remember the story of Jesus feeding 5,000+ people with only five loaves of bread and two fish? And, out of all those people, there was only one who brought a lunch with him. That’s because his mama knew better. “That boy is always hungry. I better pack him a lunch."
One little boy plus one little meal of bread and fish equated to Jesus -- not to just feed a lot of people, but also to show them how much He loved and cared for them -- AND, that this Jesus from Galilee was a Miracle Worker. That crowd didn't even have to use their faith. The Master took over and showed them "anything is possible with God!"
Just a little picnic lunch was all that was needed. God always starts with what we have. We may not have much time. Our finances may not amount to much. We may not think we have much talent. We may think we’re too old to be useful or too young to speak up for what’s right!
Everything – even the “little” – can be given to God for His use and His purposes. We can give Him our heart. We can give Him our reputation. We can give Him our past, present, and future. We may think it’s not much, but we can give Him what we have -- even if it's our five loaves and two fish.
In John 6:5-6 Jesus asked Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.,"
Jesus wasn’t worried at all about how to feed 5,000 people. He already had in mind what He was going to do. He saw the need long before the disciples did. He already had a plan.
Am I touching a chord in your heart today? I sure hope so. A truth we must understand is that God always has the answer before we even know the problem or concern. God is not worried about our unsolvable problem.
It’s not too late in the day for Jesus. He saw our issues long before we did. He knew what was coming. He already had a plan for it. God knows the solution to our problems before we even recognize it is a problem.
So why are we worrying? What don’t we go straight to the SOURCE and admit it seems we have an unsolvable problem. Then, we simply give God everything we have – little or big. And, then we’ll be able to be a part of the MIRACLE as we watch Him take our loaves and fish and turn them into a feast!
