Getting Connected

When I was a widow traveling alone between Tulsa and Austin, I made sure jumper cables were in my auto’s emergency kit. I only used those cables just a couple of times. Amazing what one can do, when they are the only one who is there to do it!

As many know, the answer for a dead battery is a set of jumper cables that are used to get the electrical juice from the battery of another car to “rejuice” the dead battery in our car. I figured it out!

The other car was pulled up close to mine and it was kept running while the cables were attached. In a few minutes, my car started.
Oh, yes, I AM going somewhere with this blog! This analogy goes with “staying connected to our Source.” If we aren’t connected, we are suffering from a dead battery or spiritually – spiritual power.

Our Source, of course, is Jesus Christ, and we attach ourselves to Him by placing our trust and belief in Him. That attachment allows us to pull His limitless power into our spiritually dead selves and become forever connected to Him.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He loved us, even when we were DEAD in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). (Ephesians 2:4-5)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

You see, there is spiritual life to be found in Jesus, but the key is that we must be correctly attached to Him. Being almost attached to Him by knowing about Him but not really knowing Him as Savior, won’t awaken us to the joy, peace, faith He gives us!

Being correctly attached to the wrong source won’t give us what we need. Christianity isn’t a religion but is, instead, an eternal relationship with Jesus Christ.

So, with audacious pleading, I am asking you to examine your spiritual connection (or lack of it) to Jesus. Are you truly connected to Him in a life-changing way that has spiritually charged your life by drawing from His power?

Or is your connection to Him weak and lacking? Someone helped me connect my car to his so that it would recharge long enough until I could obtain a new battery. Maybe, I can role play with you now. My connection just cost me a few minutes delay in getting my car started.

If you are weak in faith, have lost hope, and no one is fulfilling the emptiness in your heart, then I urge you to power up with giving your life wholly to THE ONE Who offers abundant life here and forever with the One Who paid for the connection with you.

I pray this message touches your heart strings enough to crave this LOVE that knows no bounds, that gives you peace in your storms and faith that moves mountains.

Softy and tenderly Jesus is calling you to connect with Him. He is 24/7 waiting for you to come home!
