Speaking from my many cruise experiences today. Embarking on a cruise with the love of your life offers sunsets, sea breezes, and an all-you-can-eat buffet. Now, imagine if this weren’t just a sea journey but a spiritual voyage with Jesus as your captain. Welcome to "Cruising with Jesus," a journey as transformative as the destination, led by the captain who famously walked on water.
Setting sail brings a mix of adventure and the mild anxiety of forgetting something important. It's akin to letting Jesus take control, steering us through life's uncertainties. As Mark 4:39 illustrates, Jesus calms the storms, promising peace amidst turmoil. When the seas of life grow rough, we're reassured that with Jesus, serenity is always within reach.
Even during literal storms on a cruise, the fun doesn’t pause—it simply moves inside. Cruising with Jesus teaches us to find joy in every circumstance, embracing the "Joy of the Lord as your strength" (Nehemiah 8:10), not just when conditions are perfect.
A cruise highlight is always the food, abundant and varied. Similarly, life with Jesus offers a spiritual buffet of peace, love, grace, and forgiveness—nourishing blessings that outlast even the most tempting dessert bar.
Each destination on a cruise offers new sights, sounds, and learning opportunities. Likewise, each day with Jesus enriches us, presenting new ways to share love, gain wisdom, and live fully in His presence.
Though every cruise concludes, our journey with Jesus is ongoing. Each day is a fresh start, an invitation to navigate life’s waves with the ultimate guide. As we dock back into daily routines, we continue learning to trust in our Captain’s steady hand and constant love.
The spiritual journey offers a “fat-free buffet”—no need to skip the elevator for the stairs. Here’s to a life of cruising joyfully with Jesus!
