There are moments in life when God steps in and leaves us speechless. You know, the kind of moments that make you chuckle under your breath and shake your head like Sarah did when she overheard the Lord say she was going to have a baby in her old age. (Genesis 18:12)
Can you imagine? Sarah, nearly 90 years old, laughed out loud at the thought. Abraham, at 100, must have done a double take too.
I picture Sarah leaning around the corner, thinking, "Did He just say baby? Me? Now?"
But the Lord, ever patient and unamused by biology or the ticking of any clock, asked, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" (Genesis 18:14). That question echoes through the centuries and lands squarely in our hearts today.
Maybe you’ve been there. Faced with an impossible situation that made you laugh (or cry) out of disbelief. Maybe you’re staring at a mountain that won’t seem to budge, wondering if God’s promises got lost in the shuffle.
Nothing is too hard for God. Not a 90-year-old giving birth. Not parting seas, raising the dead, or feeding thousands with a boy’s lunch. And certainly not the messes we find ourselves tangled in.
God specializes in the impossible.
It’s His calling card. Ishmael was born from Sarah’s plan, but Isaac was born from God’s promise. There’s a difference between what we can manufacture in our strength and what God births in His perfect timing.
Maybe you’re in the waiting season, where hope feels a little fragile, and laughter seems more like disbelief than joy. Let me remind you: if God says it, He will do it. His promises never expire, and His power is limitless.
So go ahead and laugh if you must. But remember this: the same God who brought life from Sarah's barren womb can bring life to the dreams, hopes, and prayers you thought were long gone.
Is anything too hard for the Lord? No way. Not yesterday, not today, not ever!
