Before the doors even opened, we sat outside by the grand stage under a perfect Tennessee sky, snapping photos, soaking up the golden glow of evening, and thanking God for such a just right night.
It felt like heaven had turned the thermostat to “celebration temperature.”
Inside, it was pure joy — the kind that gets your toes tapping and your heart swelling with gratitude. The Opry felt like a family reunion where everyone brought their best — talent, humor, heart, and a little twang.
Loved hearing the talents of Kevin Bacon, a great actor still, but loves performing with his 9-years older brother, Michael Bacon, as The Bacon Brothers. They have a long history of performing their unique blend of folk, rock, soul and country music.
Lots of other acts, but Scotty McCreery, a favorite of ours since he won American Idol in 2011, opened his heart wide, sharing his gratitude for his beautiful family — his wife he's loved since they were five years old. Now, with his newborn baby boy and his two years and 11 months toddler at home.
Scotty's story of faith, family, and blessings was the kind that tugged at every heartstring in the room. Then came Vince Gill, who graced the stage with that smooth southern charm and deep appreciation for the gifts God’s given him. You could feel his gratitude radiating through every note.
We clapped, we sang, and yes — we laughed those good old-fashioned belly laughs! It was a night where gratitude met joy, and talent turned into praise. As James 1:17 reminds us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above.”
Walking out, Carl and I looked at each other and just smiled — hearts full, feet light, and spirits tuned a little higher. What a blessing to be there — to celebrate music, life, love, and the amazing gifts our Creator has poured into His people!
Here’s to faith, fellowship, and a few more toe-tapping moments -- the sweetest harmony of all! 🎵
