Honestly, there are too many things to juggle -- leading a women's prayer group, prepping for Wednesday nights' Bible study, writing blogs, and tidying up before the house cleaners arrive. I’ll hit the gym soon, but first, let me finish crossing things off my to-do- list.
Every January, I remember just how human I am. I set big goals, charge forward, and before long, I stall. Take journaling. I’m all in for a week, then days blur together, and suddenly I’m playing catch-up, piecing together where God and I left off. So far, I’m still on track -- but it’s just Day #8!
Here’s what I’m learning: January isn’t the only clean slate. With Jesus, every day -- every moment -- offers a fresh start. No rigid routines required. Just grace, wrapped up in His loving presence.
Will I have beautiful moments with the Lord this year? Absolutely. Will there be days I don't give Him my best? Also, yes. And you know what? It's okay. Grace isn’t earned by perfect checklists. It’s found in spontaneous "Let's pray now" moments with a friend or the quiet realization that God is okay with my ups and downs.
With this knee issue, I won't be a gym fanatic for now, but I’ll keep showing up. I’ll tackle one thing at a time, answer the phone when a friend needs prayer, and trust that if I forget an appointment, God's grace covers that too!
Eventually, my goals and plans for this new year will feel as natural as brushing my teeth. Until then, I’ll thank God for His grace -- with every bit of consistency and inconsistency. Here’s to Day Eight, Day Nine, and the promise of a blessed, grace-filled year ahead!
"Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23
