A Noble Man Worth Celebrating

Yesterday we kicked off a weekend of celebration for my dear husband, Carl Noble — the man who, by name and by nature, lives nobly every day.

His daughters went all out with a beautiful birthday party for this gentle giant, and over fifty-five friends and family came to honor him. And yes, I’ll admit I’m partial — but anyone who knows Carl would agree: he’s the real deal.

Carl and I found love again later in life — two widowed hearts God graciously brought together. Since marrying him on August 8, 2023, I’ve had a front-row seat to his quiet strength, sense of humor and steady kindness that make him who he is.

A noble man isn’t defined by the headlines or Hollywood scripts. He’s not a superhero on a movie screen. He’s the man who shows up — consistently, humbly, faithfully. Carl shows up for his friends, for his family, and for strangers who need a ride to the doctor or a word of encouragement on a hard day.

He attends three men’s Bible studies every week — not to boast about knowledge, but to grow in wisdom and to invest in others. He encourages young boys in schools where father figures can be scarce. He notices people — really notices — and then calls out what’s good in them with a word of kindness. He doesn’t brag, but his life whispers the kind of strength that lasts.

Scripture says, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14) That’s Carl. Strong but gentle. Courageous but humble. Faith-filled and loving in ways both big and small.

The world needs more noble men — men who quietly change lives without needing applause, men who build families and communities with integrity and grace. I thank God every day that He gave me one to love and walk beside.

Carl is not perfect (he’ll be the first to tell you that), but he is quick to apologize, quick to forgive, and quick to love. And that makes him mighty in all the ways that truly count.

So today, and all weekend long, I celebrate my gental giant -- strong, kind, faith-filled and noble in every way that matters!
