Jesus — Brought to Life

On Thursday, Highland Lakes Camp on the beautiful shores of Lake Travis, rolled out the red carpet for senior citizens from many Texas churches! Yay for owning up to being a senior citizen -- bring on those perks!

Imagine driving through Austin's gorgeous Hill Country and then being treated like royalty. Delicious fruit and muffins kicked the morning off, and friends gathering with smiles as wide as Texas. Add in a delicious lunch, and you’ve got the makings of a pretty perfect day.

But the real treat? The program.

The speaker — more ministry than mere entertainment — was Jeremy Kluth, and wow, did he grab our hearts. Jeremy isn’t your average performer. He’s on a mission to make Scripture unforgettable. And for those of us who sometimes struggle to remember a name, a movie, or why we walked into the kitchen --we were watching and listening closely!

Jeremy has done something most of us would never dream of -- he memorized large portions of the Book of John — not just a few verses, but whole chapters. And then he dramatizes them. He's also done that with many other scripture settings from the Bible.

Imagine Scripture coming alive through passionate storytelling, rich gestures, and deep emotion — no fancy costumes, no distracting props. Just God’s Word center stage.

Jeremy took us on a journey through John’s gospel — from “In the beginning was the Word…” to the resurrection of Jesus. And something powerful happened in that room. As he spoke, it felt like we were hearing Jesus Himself invite us closer, reminding us of His love, His mission, His grace for every generation — yes, even those of us with silver hair and reading glasses.

I thought of Jesus’ words in John 14:26: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit… will remind you of everything I have said to you.” What a promise for those of us who sometimes forget! The Spirit brings to mind what we need most — His truth, His peace, His love — right when we need it.

It was a beautiful reminder -- we may forget where we left our glasses, but Jesus never forgets us. His Word is living and active, and with each retelling, it breathes life into our souls.

God's Word is still active and alive. It still lights our way and fills us with hope. “The Holy Spirit… will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)
